I am sorry, but I have to comment on this story. It indicates that family member(s) want a landfill cleared of trade center debris because some victims' remains were found. I don't mean to sound unempathetic or crass, but come on, what is the sense of spending tons of money, making people go through garbage, in hopes of finding some bone fragments or such? I mean, I can see if an entire body is found, which we know wouldn't be the case, but when do we say enough is enough and end it? I mean, what's next, Hurricane Katrina victims wanting the government to dredge the gulf coast to look for deceased who may have drifted off?

As much as I would be devastated to lose a loved one in this way, the reality is that their body is just their physical being. I will not have losed their spirit. I mean, come on, my dad's grave site contains his bones, but never will it contain his spirit. That is probably why I never felt a connection to it. Yet, I was devastated to have lost our family home where he died, not the hospital where he was pronounced dead, but our home where he died. His spirit was there and I felt it for a long time after he was gone.

What happened on 9/11 was tragic, we all know that. I hope that we never see such a thing again in this country. But the time has since passed to move on. If any human matter is found in future buildings or such, then do the best to gracefully recover them, but why continue to spend tons of money trying to identify the remains in the hopes of burying some bones?? Their spirits are not with those bones. Their spirits will remain at the site, in whatever capacity it is rebuilt.

Am I wrong?
