Sorvino Welcomes Second Child

Sorvino Welcomes Second Child

Oscar winning actress Mira Sorvino is thrilled after giving birth to her second child, a baby boy called Johnny. The Mighty Aphrodite actress, 38, and her actor husband Chris Backus, 24, welcomed the 7 pound, 14 ounce tot on Monday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills, California. Sorvino's publicist Ed Choi enthuses, "The baby is healthy and happy, and mother and the rest of the family are very, very excited." Sorvino, who previously dated Quentin Tarantino and Olivier Martinez, married Backus in June 2004 after a whirlwind romance. They welcomed their first child, a daughter Mattea Angel in November 2004.

Affleck Rushed to Hospital

Affleck Rushed to Hospital

Good Will Hunting star Ben Affleck spent his Memorial Day holiday on Monday, in the hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, after developing serious migraine headaches. The actor's wife, Alias star Jennifer Garner, drove him to hospital and he was released after receiving emergency treatment. According to a statement released by the star's representative Ken Sunshine on Monday, "Ben Affleck was treated for a migraine at Mt Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts, today. He was released this afternoon, and is recuperating at home." The celebrity couple are spending the summer in Cambridge with six-month-old daughter Violet, while Affleck directs his first feature film Gone, Baby, Gone.

Wow, do you think maybe NOW people will take migraine disease seriously? It would be a shame that it would take a celebrity having migraines for people to understand that it is a very real, and very debilitating, and very SERIOUS disease. I bet the ER didn't question him for hours to ensure that he is not a drug-seeker as they do so many other migraineurs out there. (I do not speak from experience, luckily for me, I have only had to go the emergency method twice, and both times to the family doc.)

This coming from Kimberly who has had a mind-numbing, dull headache/migraine for 3 days now. :-(

Do I need to remind people: Migraines are not just headaches! Thank you. :-)

Seacrest Blames Busy Schedule for Hatcher Split

Movie & TV News @ IMDb.com - WENN: "Seacrest Blames Busy Schedule for Hatcher Split
American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has blamed his busy schedule and excessive media attention for the swift end to his romance with Teri Hatcher. The TV/radio presenter, 31, and Hatcher, 41, were photographed kissing on a Malibu, California, beach in March. However, the romance was quickly over with the Desperate Housewives actress telling Oprah Winfrey, 'I haven't seen him since that day. We knew that the (pictures) had been taken, which must have bothered him enough. An hour after he dropped me off, he called to say, 'I don't think I can do this with you.'' In an interview with the New York Times, Seacrest explains it was his fault the dates ended, but he is too busy with American Idol, hosting on the E! TV network and his radio shows to be in a relationship. He says, 'She's clever. She's self-deprecating. She's successful. She can pay for dinner. What's wrong? It is strange, but I don't think it was a Teri Hatcher issue. It's a Ryan Seacrest issue.'"

Hmm, coult it also be that HE IS GAY! What is that saying, if it looks like a duck, and walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is probably a duck?!

Nuff said.

The Observer | World | Yangtze dam is finished after 13 years and 1.3m evictions

The Observer | World | Yangtze dam is finished after 13 years and 1.3m evictions

Absolutely amazing! Discovery Channel has been telecasting a special about this major undertaking, and it was very fascinating. It is a shame that so many had to be up-rooted, and that so much archaelogical finds will be drowned, but, with energy the way it is now, the power from the Dam alone should compensate. Perhaps that is what we need to focus on more. Just imagine such a damn protecting and serving the souther LA, MS, and FL areas.

Brangelina's Baby?

Geez, these people don't give up. BRANGELINA???? Give me a break. But, outside of them coining this stupid name, now the speculation is up that the first paparazzi to snap a photo of their baby could get 3million dollars???!!!

Brad & Angelina - IDEA

Beat them to the punch, release your own photo FIRST to the highest bidder, and donate that money to your favorite charitable organization. Why let the puke that they call the paparazzi benefit from the first photo.

American Idol - What a JOKE!!!

Ok, so in the great realm of the goings on in the world, American Idol is not a big deal. But, few people got me hooked on this show two seasons back. I have watched it, voted, and for the most part, always agreed with the winners.

UNTIL LAST NIGHT

I am through with the show now. I will not watch it again. And, as indicated by many forums and boards out there, so are a lot of people. Chris Daughtry was supposedly voted off Tuesday night. So, we are led to believe that most of America liked Taylor, Elliott, and Katharine better?? As if!

I am not sure why I am so shocked honestly. From day one, I called Taylor to win, but then I discovered, and fell in love with, Chris. I guess I knew that America wouldn't vote in a rocker as the AI winner but I thought he would at least make it to the top 2.

It is proof positive that most people don't know true talent. I don't know why I am so shocked after all, when the people watching this show seem to be more likely to vote for it than the president. Ok, I know that is a huge slam, and there are a LOT of very intelligent and good people watching, but I need to vent.

All over the rumors are abounding about problems voting for Chris, people getting "thank you for voting for Kat" and such. And I have to say, I too just cannot believe that anyone would put Kat above Chris for sure b/c she was terrible on Tuesday night. In her credit, it would be hard for a woman to sing Elvis, but she just chose the wrong songs.

So, Chris dude, do believe that you are awesome. I am truly awe-struck listening to you and can't wait for your CD.

Google Sued for Allegedly Profiting from Child Porn - Computing -

Google Sued for Allegedly Profiting from Child Porn - Computing -
Oh please! Proof positive that any idiot can file a law suit. I have been using Google for so long now, I think almost since its inception, and I have never happened upon any type of Child Porn links. Sure, you may get the occassional Adult Porn link, but even those are more rare in my experience than other search engines.

In fact, Google has many built in options to enable safe searching for all. I would like to see this lawsuit put their money where their mouth is, AND pay Google back all legal fees when it is determined to be unfounded.

It seems that once companies get so big, people realize that they are more likely to "settle out of court" than to deal with the time and expense of a trial. That is an unfortunate side effect of our free speech nation. I hope Google holds their own and comes out a victor.

Illegal Immigrants' Rights? Isn't that an oxymoron?

The big question that I have to ask about the recent illegal immigrant marches is why didn't the INS use that as a great method of grabbing and deporting a bunch of illegals at once. I mean, they had a captive audience after all full of illegals!

It pisses me off beyond anything I can relay that I have to be hassled with filling out I-9 forms, digging through years of stuff to find Social Security cards and birth certificates, to PROVE that I *am* a legal resident of the United States of America, and nothing is being done to get rid of these illegals??? PUUUHHHHLLLEEAASEEEE!!!

Reminder: American citizens have rights and privileges in America. illegal aliens, um, no, you aren't citizens!

If you want to live in the good old USA, it is quite simple, LEARN ENGLISH and go about becoming a citizen the correct and legal way.

I say we quit giving into these trespassers by providing every damn thing to them in Spanish. Round them all up and send them back from where they came. If they want to come back, they need to it the right way. Hell, INS has cracked down far more on LEGALLY located immigrants of Arab descent since 911, but what the heck they doing about the illegal hispanic descendants?? Nothing. Big business is saving a ton of $$$ using these illegals (see my other blog). My guess is that they are using some of that savings to pay off lobbyists and the INS to not go after the illegals.

To the illegals:

¡Vuelva de donde usted vino y aprende inglés!

Should parents who smoke be charged with child abuse?
